And today (February 6th), is 風呂の日 (ふろのひ), bath day in Japan, gentlemen.

This date originates from the combination of words 「ふ(2)ろ(6)」 and was established by the "General Incorporated Association HOT JAPAN", which works to register Japanese bath culture as a UNESCO Cultural Heritage.

The aim is to make even more people aware of the appeal of Japan's unique bathing culture, including hot springs, public baths and home baths.

To celebrate this day, the video features an episode of the variety show 『テレビ三面記事 ウィークエンダー』(テレビさんめんきじ ウィークエンダー)broadcast on May 8, 1982 by Nippon TV showing the floors of a hotel in Gero Onsen, Gifu, where it was possible to see the women's bath as you passed by on the train.

There are other “bath day” dates in Japan that we will write about when April 26th and November 26th come around. 👍
